Caregivers typically operate at a high level of selflessness, going above and beyond to provide comfort and support to others. Often, those same caregivers tend to be less generous in providing that same level of care to themselves. Some believe that taking care of themselves is selfish; others want to take care of themselves, but they reach for solutions that aren’t sustainable, such as so-called “comfort food”—or even Southern Comfort!
During times of change—particularly this pandemic—healthcare leaders at all levels need to know how to secure their own mask first; that is, they need to be able to tap into research-based resilience practices to endure and even find joy amidst a crisis.
This humorous, practical, story-based session will teach you how to build your resilience and improve your mental health. As a former award-winning crisis counselor, speaker and executive coach/consultant Scott Carbonara stood on the brink of burnout before studying and harnessing the power of applied positive psychology.
